Support your local songwriters
Hey all
It’s been a little while since I’ve updated the blog. Hope everyone is well.
I had the opportunity to spend some time this past weekend with two of my favorite songwriters – Anna Coogan (www.annacoogan.com) and Eva Tree (www.evatree.com).
I’m trying to recall who I met first – I know one introduced me to the other, but it was a few years ago and I met them around the same time.
Eva and I worked on the artwork and photos for her last CD, Sail Away. Michelle and I got the chance to see her perform at a local spot called Egan’s here in Ballard – great venue if you haven’t had the chance to check it out. It had been about three years since we’d seen Eva, and her set was great – she sounded wonderful, as always. I have a few shots from the show that I need to weed through.
Anna is finishing up her next release, the Nocturnal Among Us. We did some PR photos Saturday morning at her home “studio” and then up around the Ballard area. I got my hands on a pre release copy of the CD and I have to say it’s awesome. If you think a voice with the combination of Kelly Willis and Natalie Merchant sounds appealing, believe me, it is. Not to mention the great songwriting. The CD will be out after the first of the year. You should definitely pick it up.
Here are a few shots from the promo session – I haven’t included any from the CD or promo materials, but some of these may make it to a poster of flier.

One thing I forgot to mention is the spouses of these two wonderful gals – Eva’s husband Bill plays guitar in her band, and Anna’s husband Brooks plays keyboard and piano with her. Both are super nice and supportive guys, and all of them are greatly talented.
If you have the chance, please support your local songwriter – or any local artist, for that matter. We’d all very much appreciate it!
